One of the increasingly popular advertising methods involves marketing activities that are performed secretly. They consist of anonymously conveying recommendations for specific products or services. The main goal is to increase trust among consumers and encourage them to interact with the given company.
What is stealth marketing? The term refers to "invisible" marketing, a technique frequently used primarily online. It involves directly providing consumers with recommendations for a company's services. The process is conducted in such a way that recipients are unaware of the message's promotional nature. For this purpose, posts are most often placed, for example, on forums to trigger a discussion about specific products. The content is published in a way that gives the impression that its creator is an "ordinary user" of the site, so that internet users can feel they can trust the recommendations and show interest in them.
There is also a phenomenon known as "whisper" marketing. The definition of this term refers to actions where individuals impersonate users of various internet portals and post entries about different services. However, in contrast to invisible marketing, in this case, the published opinions are not intended to stimulate discussion as much as to be a part of it. Their goal may be to discourage consumers from using the offer of the mentioned brands. These actions are, however, often considered unethical.
